Every sign-in on the VenueScan Terminal produces one of three outcomes: a successful sign-in, a successful sign-in with a warning, or an unsuccessful sign-in. Each outcome has a distinct screen colour so staff can read the result at a glance.
Successful sign-in
The terminal shows a green screen with a tick and welcomes the patron by name. A short ding sound plays. Entry is recorded.
When this is shown
Patron signs in successfully
Successful sign-in with warning
The terminal shows an orange screen with a tick and welcomes the patron. Entry is still recorded. A small chip code appears below the welcome message identifying the warning, and a buzz sound alerts staff.
When this is shown
Patron has a partial self-exclusion
Patron has already signed in today
Patron is flagged

Chip codes
Warnings and unsuccessful sign-ins display a small chip code below the message. The chip is a short identifier like N02 or D04 that tells staff the specific reason.
Patrons only see the message on screen. Staff use the chip code to look up the reason on the printable reference and respond appropriately.
Download the printable reference from your dashboard. It lists every chip code with its meaning, so you can keep it at your reception.
The success screen displays for 10 seconds and then automatically resets, ready for the next patron. You can also press to dismiss it early.
Successful sign-in with warning, and unsuccessful sign-in
These screens do not auto-dismiss. A buzz sound plays so staff are immediately alerted without needing to watch the screen. The button in the top right requires a long press to dismiss, preventing patrons from closing the screen themselves.
By default, the button appears after 5 seconds. You can change this from your dashboard. The longer the minimum display time, the more time staff have to see and respond before it can be dismissed.

Messages
Each outcome type has its own title and subtitle that you can edit from your dashboard. The same message is shown for every scenario within that outcome type; the chip code below identifies the specific reason.
