TerminalOffline mode

Offline mode

The terminal continues to operate when your internet connection is lost. Sign-ins are recorded locally on the device and automatically uploaded to your dashboard once the connection is restored.

What still works offline

  • Patron sign-in, including physical ID scanning and some digital ID scanning
  • Ban, self-exclusion, and flagged patron enforcement (using the lists last synced before going offline)
  • Age verification
  • Sign-in outcomes, sounds, and screen behaviour

What does not work offline

Bans, self-exclusions, and flags added while offline will not be enforced until the terminal reconnects. The terminal uses the copy of your ban, self-exclusion, and flagged patron lists that was last synced before the connection was lost. Any changes made in the dashboard during the outage (new bans, self-exclusions, flags, or removals) will take effect once the device comes back online and resyncs.

Some digital IDs cannot be verified while offline. Only QLD and international digital IDs can be verified whilst the device is offline. This is because these digital IDs use Bluetooth and cryptography to verify their authenticity.
